Allan, or Fitz as he’s known around here, knows his stuff. With nearly two decades of experience in both Canada and the US, Fitz has a proven track record of getting the job done right, on time, and on budget. Turns out, he’s also a great leader sparing no resources to get his team trained and giving them every opportunity to grow. He has built an amazing culture at Uptime, where his core values match those of his team. After Fitz became a Red Seal Millwright he never stopped learning, becoming a Lean Six Sigma green belt and a certified Kaizen Facilitator. Fitz is proficient in the set up and operation of CMMS software, MRO and Preventative and Predictive maintenance and programs. He also has great experience planning and executing CAPEX projects with a proven ROI of 12 months or less.

Reza is the newest member of our executive team. With an Executive MBA from Simon Fraser University, he also possess a substantial resume and plays a crucial role in our business development. Over the past 20 years, Reza has made a career out of leading sales and marketing operations for fortune 500 organizations. He has extensive experience in shaping sales strategy, as well as a proven track record of sales leadership. On top of this, Reza is an expert in client needs analysis with a solutions based, consultative approach to sales. This is especially beneficial to our mechanical services department. Reza is responsible for sales forecasting, training, campaigns and strategies, strategic marketing, and organizing education.

With almost two decades of electrical and construction experience, Simon knows the job is about more than the numbers. It’s about providing expert solutions for our customers that keep them up and running. We are lucky to have Simon leading our team of estimators. His time as a Red Seal journeyman electrician has a proven track record in tenant improvements for municipal jobs, electrical troubleshooting, electrical panel design, and construction and industrial equipment integration.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience in electrical and automation, Mike just gets it. As the Electrical Manager, Mike taps into his vast experience everyday in overseeing the department to ensure our clients get the most innovative and cost effective solution they need, no matter what. It’s just the way he works. With a Red Seal journeyman ticket and years of knowledge, Mike is a bit of an expert on most electrical topics. Troubleshooting systems, machine upgrades, factory layout, and power distribution are just a few of his areas of expertise.

Whether it’s directing sixty industrial workers supporting a national distribution network, or managing a group of industrial refrigeration technicians, Jarett is a great leader here at Uptime. His team has shown continued success in executing seasonal projects and day-to-day reactive service. With his customer-first approach, Jarett goes beyond the extra mile to ensure that Uptime is handling our customers' every need which includes everything from refrigeration to all other trade work. Jarett always makes sure his team is well equipped, trained, and organized for every job. Having a guy like him on our team instills confidence as we continue to grow.

Kyle's leadership skills are evident through his mechanical manager role here at Uptime. After his experience playing in the National Lacrosse League for nine years and winning the NLL Championship with the Toronto Rock, he is now in charge of a slightly different team - one of highly trained mechanics and fabricators. Kyle has adapted well and gained knowledge and trust with customers and his team here at Uptime. Instead of scoring the game-winning goal, he goes above and beyond to keep things running smoothly. Combine Uptime’s great team of millwrights and apprentices, with an experienced captain like Kyle, and you will get customers who are not only satisfied but are more than happy with a job well done.

Craig has been working on just about anything when it comes to the commercial HVAC industry. From high-rise hydronic systems, to commercial heating and cooling systems, to the latest walk-in fridges and freezers, there’s not much Craig hasn’t seen. It’s that kind of experience that makes him the perfect fit. Craig is a certified Red Seal refrigeration mechanic with a B gas ticket and an RE electrician. His team is qualified for any of our customers' HVAC needs.

Paul is originally from Edmonton, so you know he truly knows about cold. For over 40 years he’s been lending his considerable skills to the world of industrial refrigeration. From running his own business, to managing projects big and small, Paul is the perfect fit for your project and for our team. With a 5th Class Power Engineer (Refrigeration Endorsement) and his many years as a refrigeration mechanic, Paul is exactly who we want estimating and running our refrigeration projects.

Rob has been with us since the beginning back when Uptime began in 2014 and is the definition of an experienced millwright. He has proven himself by working his way up from an apprentice millwright to a mechanical estimator. His resume is fully loaded with mechanical knowledge. Whether he is the lead mechanic for a fully automated parking garage at Jameson House, or doing other work such as fabricating, TIG, MIG stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel, he always gets the job done efficiently and smoothly. Working in BC and Alberta, Rob excels at designing efficient solutions for production lines, relocating large facilities, and installing compressor and air nets. Whatever your mechanical needs are, Rob is here to take your call.

Refrigeration Foreman

Over the past years, Sean has done it all. He’s worked on fishing boats, hot houses, green houses, industrial solariums, and indoor tropical gardens. He also played a big part in the construction of the 2010 Olympic artificial ice surfaces, bobsleigh tracks in Whistler, ski jumps in the Callaghan Valley, speed skating oval in Richmond, skating arenas at the PNE and Trout Lake, and the curling centre at Hillcrest. Needless to say, if you need something done, Sean is your guy. With a B gas fitter, RE electrician and Red Seal refrigeration certification, Sean has become an expert in industrial ammonia refrigeration and industrial and commercial Freon refrigeration. Plus, his added proficiency dealing with DDC and PLC automation is a bonus.

Darin studied computer science at UBC before deciding that he preferred working with gauges and wrenches, rather than a keyboard and mouse. He began his career with a ‘go-big-or-go-home’ attitude, starting with ice rinks and supermarkets. Now, he brings knowledge to refrigeration systems of all sizes, from large commercial breweries and bakeries, to the cheese cooler at your local deli. He loves what he does, and enjoys taking an empirical approach to anticipating and solving your refrigeration issues. Darin is a Red Seal refrigeration mechanic with a B gas ticket and RE electrician. In addition, he is proficient in both ammonia and freon based refrigeration systems, as well as being trained in the operation and programming of Delta Controls software.

Gary has spent the majority of his time at Uptime implementing and fine tuning the safety program. His number one priority is the safety of our team which is easily noticeable as he lives and breathes our core values. Gary is constantly improving, learning, and going the extra mile to educate safety practices, and reduce the chance of worker risks and injuries. He does this by providing in-house training and safety related courses. Gary has background experience working with and around heavy machinery in regards to various types of construction. Some, but not all of his previous jobs include carpenter and heavy machinery operator. Now, as Uptime’s CSO (Construction Safety Officer), there is not much that he won't do to ensure the safety of our team and our customers is always first. You can trust that Gary’s got your back, and that he will ensure each job is done efficiently and safely.
